Media Intelligence 2012 event roundup
(posted: 01/02/2012)
ADAM Software’s 2012 Media Intelligence event - Europe’s largest focusing on media intelligent marketing and media technologies - was a huge success with over 180 attendees bringing together unique DAM-industry networking opportunities and know-how. Presenters gave deep insights into the future of DAM, and ADAM Software previewed a range of industry-changing software releases.
GHENT, February 1st, 2012 - Last week saw ADAM Software’s largest ever Media Intelligence event in Ghent, Belgium. With over 180 attendees, Media Intelligence is Europe’s largest event focusing on media intelligent marketing and media technologies, and the Zebrastraat was really buzzing with unique insights and shared know-how. The event was a real success with many great presentations from industry experts and ADAM users, and a lot of discussion on the business of how DAM is being transformed into an enterprise-critical technology across the globe.
This year’s Media Intelligence event was the first that was no longer principally focused on ADAM Software’s industry-leading technologies. It brought together some of the best minds in the industry, and for the first time, user-based content comprised the lion’s share of the presentations. Out of the 11 sessions, six were delivered by non-ADAM speakers. Media Intelligence is now a focal point in the wider world of DAM where customers and experts get together to open up and share best practices, insights and more.
Take-away points
The key theme articulated throughout the day was the emerging role of marketing technology in the enterprise. Marketing and Media Execution Platforms (MEP) are rapidly becoming a critical component in the enterprise - an idea discussed in detail during ADAM Software CEO, Pieter Casneuf’s, keynote speech. The theme was further developed during Mark Davey of the DAM Foundation’s plenary session, where he clearly showed that silo thinking is out, and all-linked data will play a major role in the future of marketing. The intelligent deployment of digital asset technology will therefore lead the way in providing customer centric content views that enhance customer experience.
On a strategic level, this means enterprises are going to need to integrate DAM into their information architectures and a major hurdle for the future will be the challenge of creating unprecedented cooperation between CIOs and CMOs, and their respective responsibilities.
Highlights
During the Business Track sessions, it was fascinating to hear how large companies and ADAM Partners have been deploying the ADAM Platform. Speakers came from a wide range of sources, including AstraZeneca, DSM, and Van Gennep.
DSM, the global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials, talked about its complete rebranding project from concept to execution, and how this entire process was supported by the ADAM platform.
AstraZeneca, the pharmaceutical giant, shared the experience of their ATLAS project, emphasizing the importance of change management along with IT and product aspects.
Van Gennep announced a strengthening of its strategic alliance with ADAM Software, and introduced an exciting upcoming product release.
During the Technical Track sessions, ADAM developers also showcased industry-changing product releases such as PIMS 3.0, SharePoint Conntecor 3.0, ADAM 4.7 and PageBuilder 4.0.
Product News
ADAM Software took advantage of the gathering of luminaries to announce a host of industry-changing technologies which will be officially announced over the coming weeks. Stay tuned to get the scoop on ADAM 4.7, SharePoint Connector 3.0, and PIMS 3.0.
We also showed off our new iPad Product Viewer App which transforms your iPad into a flexible mobile sales tool. To experience again how ADAM is taking the lead in exploring new media channels, search for “ADAM Product Viewer” on the Apple App Store.
PageBuilder 4.0, ADAM’s already released catalog and document automation tool, was also demoed at the event.
Beyond Europe?
Last year, ADAM Software opened its first offices in the USA in New York. ADAM’s success at delivering enterprise-ready marketing and media execution tools has rapidly turned it into a global player in the DAM industry. ADAM’s success in hosting events in Europe might also soon see itself mirrored across the pond. Stay tuned!
Networking
Media Intelligence is, of course, about advances in marketing and media technology, and uniting the innovative people who make it happen. This led to unique networking opportunities this year, and highly valuable customer testimonials were shared both on the big screen of the conference hall and over coffee! The networking was truly a high-point of the event, and the trend continued well into the night over laughter, good food and drinks.
A little Feedback
Being part of the ADAM Software eco-system can have tremendous benefits for many aspects of your business. Media Intelligence is part of that eco-system, and a selection of feedback from this year’s event shows just how valuable it can be:
“ADAM is doing an amazing job year after year to bring together the ‘cream of the crop’ in DAM.”
“MI2012 is unmatched in every aspect.”
“It’s a great luxury to see each year how your company success in preparing such a high-level event. Is amazing how all of you take care of each little detail […] Events like this just confirm to us that we made the right decision when we chose ADAM as the technological partner.”
“This event is like good wine: getting better every year.”
“Just got home from your great event. We gained a lot of inspiration and new opportunities, and we attended with great pleasure.”
“Thanks to you and your team for all your hospitality. We really enjoyed meeting you all and some of your other partners, and are returning with some new ideas and opportunities.”
“Nice balance between technical and commercial information.”
“Thanks again for the hospitable and very educational gathering in Ghent today. A great event […]”
And finally
The giveaway of Belgian cookies with Hergé’s famous sleuth Tintin on the box was another obvious success - we were able to gauge this precisely by the number of attendees who asked for more than one box to take home.
And attendees might also remember that at one stage we even had an unexpected fire drill - a result of the heated discussions no doubt!
ADAM Software would like to thank everyone who made Media Intelligence 2012 such a great success. We look forward to working with you all throughout 2012.
