In our view, DAM systems should not only include the images-part, but they should allow to fully integrate with all your business processes. We think that it is essential to check every software solution, not only to its media services capabilities, but also to the possible integration on the side of automatic production tools and management information systems (MIS).

Today, removable digital media is merely used to pass information from one company to another, and only if bandwidth does not allow for on-line transmission. An increasing number of files come into the workflow via digital channels and do not exist on media that could possibly be put in the job bag. This is where a possible problem arises: the job bag needs to refer and point to digital files that are stored on a file system or a file server, increasing the need of punctual description of the files, or a very strict organisation on the file system.
